100 Days of Self-Care Week 4: Read

Week 13



Welcome to week 4 of 100 days of self-care. This week we are going to focus on our intellectual wellness, by reading. The goal is to set aside 30 minutes each day to read a book. Reading has tons of benefits including


  • Boosts intelligence.
  • Builds vocabulary.
  • Prevents cognitive decline.
  • Reduces stress.
  • Aids sleep.
  • Alleviates depression.
  • Lengthens lifespan.
  • Memory Improvement.
  • Stronger Analytical Thinking Skills. 
  • Improved Focus and Concentration. 
  • Better Writing Skills.
  • Alleviates depression


Below are genres for each day both in fiction and nonfiction. 


Day 1: Self-help  We are on this self-care journey because we want to become the best version of ourselves. Self-help books can provide us with the oadmap and framework to do so.

 

Day 2: Cookbook: So many of us are guilty of having a collection of cookbooks that we haven't really dived into. Take some time to go through a cookbook and create a meal plan for the week with recipes from the book. 

Day 3: Poetry: Poetry books are a lovely way for you to reflect and see what you have felt or are urrently feeling in a written form.

 

 

Day 4: Children's Book  Tap into your inner child and little adult go. Revisit our childhood favorites or explore the plethora of children's books on the market.

 

 


Day 5: Comic Book  So many of the movies and series that are being made are adaptations of the comic books many of us loved as a child. Take some time to discover the amazing worlds brought to us by comic books. 

Day 6: Spiritual Book: There are so many books that allow us to connect to spirituality be it the Bible, Koran, or Bhagavad Gita. Explore what you are familiar with or read something new. Every book has something of value.

Day 7: Health: There is so much when it comes to our health. We are often challenged due to a lack of knowledge. Take some time to read a book that will help you own your health more.
