Smoothie of the week is the newest addition to our website. People are always asking us for smoothie recipes and so we thought it would be a great to share a weekly recipe. If there is an ingredient that you want to use for a smoothie but are not sure how shoot it our way. We will create a recipe using it.
Today's recipe features blueberries. Blueberries are considered a superfood because of its nutritional density. They are high in antioxidants , which protect your body from free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage your cells and contribute to aging and diseases, such as cancer.
A 1-cup (148-gram) serving of blueberries contains:
- Fiber: 4 grams
- Vitamin C: 24% of the RDI
- Vitamin K: 36% of the RDI
- Manganese: 25% of the RDI
- Small amounts of various other nutrients
Blueberry Bliss Smoothie
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
- 1-2 handful spring mix
- 1 coconut milk*
- 1 tablespoon Almond Butter
- 1 tablespoon Anima Mundi Coconut Cream Powder (optional)
Place all the ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
Note: Coconut milk can substituted with other plant-based milk options. For additional sweetness you can add 1-2 dates.
